Nerves!

Well, fellow teachers, it's that time when I start to get nervous about the beginning of the year.  Typical, right?  Well, I am extremely nervous for this year for the obvious reasons - new school, new kids, new position.   I am thoroughly frightened about failing as I have been throughout my entire life.  Well, the stress dreams have begun.  Some people, when stressed, dream about tornadoes, hurricanes and the like.  Nope, not the Strunks.  Bill has nightmares that he loses control of his class and is put on positive assistance.   I  have nightmares (and recently daymares!!) that I forget about a college course I signed up for and never have my assignments finished nor do I pass the class.  I fail.  I know as soon as I wake up that this will not happen and that I would be fully aware of any classes I signed up for.  It sure doesn't make me feel better during the night- and daymares.  It is getting out of control!  Hopefully, it's like how we all get ourselves worked up over something only to find out that everything turns out fine.
Keeping my fingers crossed ...

I have the college class dream sometimes...I've never gone to a class and when it's time for the final I don't even know where the class meets.

I have those too! Mine have been more like the "I'm getting married tomorrow and don't have my dress yet" kind. Or, " I have a million pets and I never feed them or pet them" - but I think all of those dreams are in the same strain

Well, Dawn, it's probably a good thing we got our masters together then! We kept each other updated. You have been in my dream almost every time but you didn't sign up for the same class. Darn you!

Luckily, Jen, you had your dress on your actual wedding day!!! I can't imagine how your house would smell with a million pets who are not fed. Yikes!!! :)

I have dreams like that, too. Or my mind is whirling so much I can't stay asleep. Today Chuck asked me how my room was coming along and I said, "I'm never going to have it ready by Monday," and he laughed and said, "You say that every year!" And yet somehow every year there are kids coming into my room on the first day of school whether I feel ready or not! And the school year starts whether I've done everything on my summer projects/fun things list or not!
